CASLPPEI introduces the annual CEC audit process
Friday, August 28, 2026
Learn how the CEC audit process works, when registrants become eligible, and what to expect if randomly selected for an audit.
CASLPPEI will begin conducting annual Continuing Education and Competency (CEC) audits in 2026. Registrants become eligible for audits after completing their first three-year CEC cycle.
For the initial audit schedule, eligibility will be based on the registration period in which a registrant joined the College:
| First registered | Eligible for audit after |
|---|---|
| 2023-2024 | October 31, 2026 |
| 2024-2025 | October 31, 2027 |
| 2025-2026 | October 31, 2028 |
| 2026-2027 | October 31, 2029 |
Each year, CASLPPEI will randomly select registrants from the eligible group. Registrants selected for audit will be notified by email and asked to submit their CEC record and supporting documentation for review.
Continuous CEC requirements
All registrants must continue completing their CEC requirements and maintaining documentation of their CEC activities, whether they are selected for audit or not.
After completing a three-year CEC cycle, a registrant begins a new three-year cycle. A registrant who is audited becomes eligible for random selection again after completing the next cycle.
For example, a registrant audited in 2026 will be eligible for audit selection again in 2029.
Being selected for an audit does not change a registrant’s ongoing responsibility to complete and document their CEC activities.
